2010 Clos de la Cure Bordeaux

Clos de la Cure is a beautiful walled 6 hectare vineyard situated near the old church of St. Christophe-desBardes, on the St. Émilion plateau. This estate along with Château Milon are today in the capable hands of Alexia and Pierre Bouyer and the estates represent more than seven generations of viticultural heritage. The purchase of a further 4.5 hectares in 2008, situated on a superb gravel terroir, increased the area of the estate to 18 hectares. In 2010, a parcel of 56 ares (1.38 acres) in Pomerol was added to the vineyards of the estate. Situated on the exceptional terroir of this prestigious appellation, Clos 56 was born. The domaine works a vineyard of high viticultural quality and treats it with all the respect due to a Grand Cru: an ecological approach to the running of the estate; carefully controlled yields and a vinification and aging process that brings out the best of the terroir. A production process that results in wines of high quality, marked by the fullness of ripe Merlot with intense red fruit aromas underpinned by delicate tannins.

Tasting Notes:

Incredibly powerful, rich nose of ripe blackcurrants and chocolate. Plush and ripe body.
